We grow what we believe in

Our journey, our passion, and the vision behind Nuts & Berries Agroforestry.

What began as a shared passion for trees, soil, and regenerative agriculture evolved into a purpose-driven business.

At Nuts & Berries Agroforestry, we bring together systems thinking, hands-in-the-soil experience, and a deep commitment to working with nature.

Through years of learning, experimenting, and collaborating with farmers across Europe, we’ve grown a consultancy that is not just about designing fields or farms — we co-create living systems that can feed generations to come.

Why We Grow 🌱

Our PASSION lies in trees, soil, and regenerative farming landscapes.

We are DRIVEN by the urgency to restore ecosystem health.

Our MOTIVATION is to empower farmers to build resilient and profitable agroforestry systems.

Why We Grow Together

We came together through a shared passion in regenerative agriculture, agroforestry systems and perennial crops.

Nuts & Berries Agroforestry was born from a thirst for knowledge — and a shared vision for a better future. We, the founders, Joris & Kamiel, first connected during a syntropic agroforestry course in Germany, where long conversations quickly revealed a common dream: to integrate these dynamic systems with other regenerative practices like holistic planned grazing — ideas we have studied during years of work and travel across Europe’s diverse climates and landscapes.

We’re ambitious about the future, open to creative partnerships, and deeply committed to growing landscapes, and cultures, that honor life, together.

Along our journey, we discovered our deepest passion: trees.
From that seed, Nuts & Berries grew.

The Ethics That Guide Us

At Nuts & Berries Agroforestry, our work is grounded in the three core ethics of permaculture:

  • Care for the Earth

  • Care for People

  • Fair Share

These principles guide every decision we make - from design to business planning and community collaboration.

The Global Context

In the face of accelerating climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss, we’ve made the regeneration of ecosystems our core business.

Modern industrial agriculture has proven unsustainable — drawing down finite resources while degrading the living systems it depends on. In places like the Netherlands, for example, agricultural efficiency gains have come at the cost of dramatically increased resource inputs with marginal yield improvements (Smit, 2018). Meanwhile, peak oil is expected around 2030 (Rystad, 2024), and critical minerals for renewable energy systems remain too limited to sustain current consumption patterns, let alone continued economic growth (Nate et al., 2021). In this context, it’s deeply troubling that much of our global food system still relies on these finite resources.

But we believe another path is possible….

At Nuts & Berries Agroforestry, a deep love for the natural world lies at the heart of our work.

From Extraction to Regeneration: A New Story for Farming

True abundance is possible by aligning with nature's renewable engines: photosynthesis and evolution. Life creates more life! We humans can become a keystone species, regenerating ecosystems, catalyzing an explosion of life, restabilizing the climate, and restoring biodiversity through thoughtful, ethics based design and action.

Growing diverse agroforestry systems is how we express our care for the Earth and our future.

Planting Seeds of Regeneration, Together

Nuts & Berries Agroforestry champions cooperation with all forms of life.

Through our unique agroforestry consultancy approach, we support the creation of:

  • vibrant farming communities rooted in resilient agroecological systems

  • Ever-improving soil health, biodiversity, and stable, long-term yields

  • Reduced risk through diversified cropping systems

  • Lower input costs and fairer margins via collective processing and regional sales

We’re here to build this future with a new generation of farm entrepreneurs. Come grow with us.

The Meaning of Nuts & Berries

The name Nuts & Berries is a homage to two of nature’s most extraordinary plants: the hazelnut (Corylus avellana) and the elderberry (Sambucus nigra).

These plants are true powerhouses and superfoods, deeply woven into human history, mythology, and agroforestry traditions. Together, they represent vitality, resilience, and nourishment. Values at the core of agroforestry and regenerative land design.
